This little guy lost his mommy when she was hit by a car. He was taken to a place to be cared for for only a short time, however he realzied that all he really wants is there-LOVE. So he stays where special people and special animals are-Nova’s Ark–my daughter’s principal operates a place where children with special needs and animals can learn from one another and be together sharing love. This little guy just won’t leave, he was released back to nature, came back and there he stays.

Stamping on something else!

July 3rd, 2008

I am trying to find some things to stamp on other than paper. I know there are a million things, but I just can’t think when it comes down to Wed. night. (I’m such a procrastinater). But I have been wanting to try stamping on a transparency. So that’s what I’m doing this morning. I’ll have pictures in a bit, check back real soon!

Okay, that was quick! To do this project I stamp the image on the transparency, let it dry then added some glitter glue and cut it out. I just put the image right on the picture so it looks like I stamped the picture itself. You could do this for a lot of different projects. I’ve seen it done for cards and with pictures that you just hang in a frame. I think I’ll stamp on glass next week.

Products used: Stampendous stamp (ruffled bloom)

Stazon black ink pad (recommended for faster drying)
Yellow glitter glue
Hammermill transparency sheet
Cutest picture ever of my Dad and my Daughter! edited in Adobe Photoshop.

Have a wonderful 4th of July!

Lindsay

It’s Still Wednesday….

July 3rd, 2008

For another 18 minutes :)
Sorry I’m late! Life has been busy around here!

Today for “some strange reason” I was thinking of scallops….(could be because “some unnamed company” is coming out with “some sort of scallop related product” very soon!! I can’t wait!!)

But I can’t get enough of scallops. Big ones, small ones…they have overtaken the scrapbook and card making world.

I was trying to get my hands on this product - the Fiskars Threading Water Scallop Punch - but it seems near impossible unless I want to pay a fortune. I’m doubting I’ll find it at Michaels in Canada, but if any Canadians have seen it there, let me know! It’s so cute and fun looking!

In the meantime, I’ll wait until “that certain company” gets “that certain product” on the market….stay tuned - I’ll keep you updated, all you scallop lovers!

Tuesday Mini Album

July 1st, 2008

Good Morning! The mini album I decided to share with you today is a Maya Road Purse Album. I have had this one on the shelf for quite a while. I chose some pictures from this past Mother’s Day. No pictures of me just the kids having fun with their cousins down at Keansburg Amusement Park in NJ. We have been going there every year for Mother’s Day for as long as I can remember. I am planning on scrapping both sides of each page and I just chose a few pages to share with you. This mini purse has 8 chipboard pages inside. I did glue pp paper to each side and then sanded the edges. The supplies I used are as follows: Stampin Up Berry Bliss Designer Paper, SU Chocolate Chip Grograin ribbon, SU Chocolate Chip Tafeta ribbon, SU Whisper White Ribbon, SU Rose Ribbon, SU 3 in one Flower Punch, SU Rubons, Making Memories Buttons, Kaiser Scrapbook journal Rubons, Heidi Plastic Self Adhesive Letters, Zip Dry Glue and Glue Dots. I really had fun putting this one together. It looks so pretty sitting on my table. Now to finish the other side. lol This album took me approx. 8 hours to put together. (spread out over 2 days with many interruptions from my kids - is it time for school yet? LOL) I hope to get to work on my very first mini acrylic album this week. I already have the pictures and paper planned. I will share my likes and dislikes, if any, with you next Tuesday. Enjoy your week!

altering mondays

June 30th, 2008

Altering a garbage can is the lesson today.

supplies needed:
kaiser garbage can
3 pages of different pattern paper
adhesive (I use Zip Dry Glue)
ink for distressing
paint (and brushes)
exacto knife (and mat)
1. paint all the parts of the bin and let dry completely.
2. Cut all the pieces to 3×12″ strips, 1×12″ strips (8 strips)
3. Distress all strips
4. Glue down the 3×12″strips
5. Cut excess paper with knife
6. Once all pieces have been glued down, attach all sides of the bin to each other using glue.
7. Adhere the sides to the base and let glue dry completely.
8. If your strips don’t quite match up or you just want to have a clean finish, take the 1′ strips and fold four of them in half the long wise. These strips are going to be glued to the sides of the bin.
9. The last 4 strips will be glued down across the top and around the corners. BUT they will need to be cut just after the fold.
10. The finishing touches, add title (my scraps, etc…) and some ribbon if you choose.

Everything that is on this bin is from Kaiser. Hope you have enjoyed this project.
Enjoy your week,
Kelli

Doing it Digital

June 28th, 2008

Designers and Digi Creations to share……………….
I’ve found myself recently working on three different creative teams, each team reflects that designers personality and their kits definitely shows who they are and what they love about digital creations.
For me I’m loving the ability to be creative in so many ways.
I thought I’d share some work and the designers names, each has a store and each has some of the most amazing kits available.
Thanks for looking in advance.

Kit-Mad Scrapper Designs-Wendis World
I also used a template for the first time, it took me a bit to learn how to create with one but once I got the hang of it I have to say I really love the ability to use one and have a layout done so quickly.
Designer of template-Fabella
Both kit and template found at www.treasurestoscrap.com

Designer Rikkiscraps-word art and paper
Simple sweet and attractive word art to let you express your layout in one or two bold words.

Designer-Sueli Colbert-elegant and formal. Beautiful kits with a hint of delicateness and sweetness.

Random Friday

June 28th, 2008

Hi everyone! I just wanted to stop in for a minute and say hi! So hi!

Haha……

Right now, everywhere I look, I see bright colors. I LOVE the bright colors. But I really really love the muted tones of earth and nature too. They are so deep.

I am working on a cool post that will be up Sunday, was going to post it today but am having issues with the pictures for it. So I will post some pictures of a project that I recently completed for my father in law for Father’s Day. It uses a lot of those warm, earthy tones I was talking about. And some of those bright colors, but muted down. Everything was made using scraps from the scrap bucket. The papers are all from Cosmo Cricket’s Wanted Collection and Bazzill Cardstock.

Tuesday Mini Album

June 25th, 2008

Good Evening Everyone! I didn’t have time to upload this morning because dh decided to surprise us and take us to Tomahawk Lake in Sparta, NJ. What a great day, no humidity. The kids had a blast! I hope you all had a wonderful day as well!
Today’s mini album was made completely out of cardstock. No pattern paper whatsoever. I tried to use different types of elements with keeping it simple. Some products I used were: K&Co Rubons, Junkitz Rubons, Making Memories Chipboard Asst., Making Memories green clip, Prima Flowers, Chatterbox Box Letters, Leaving Prints (not in business anymore) border strips, flower cardstock cutouts and vellum quotes and Amercian Craft ribbon. I used the Crop-A-Dile to punch the holes in the binding and tied it off with AC ribbon. I used tombo adhesive runner and Zip Dry glue. These were just candid shots I took of my girls last year when we had our fun slide in our yard. I put pictures on the right and quotes on the left where I will be adding some journaling to let them know what I was thinking when I took these pictures. Album prep took about 1/2 hr and putting it together 1 1/2 while I was watching Independence Day. I am enjoying working on mini albums because they can be simple, look nice and are made to be fun. I tend to be a more serious when making a 12 x 12 layout. Hope you all have a great week!

Altering mondays

June 24th, 2008

Ok this is one of Kim’s favorite projects that I have done. Yes everyone I drove down the shore to get the perfect shot. The paper is all rusty pickle from their pirate collection and the chest is from AC Moore. WHen I made this I first took off all the hardware, then inked/painted around all the edges and it to the creases of the lid. The lide believe it or not is one sheet of paper and when cut into the strips it fitted perfectly. After I put all the papers onto the chest, I then stamped several pirate themed stamps and rubons onto it.

Enjoy the week, see you all next week.
kelli
